Respisense Testimonials

I was very sceptical when our Nanny suggested we purchase a respisense monitor, but I went along with it and bought one.  Our baby girl, Simone, has worn one since birth and has always been in her moses basket in our room alongside our bed.  She is now 10 weeks old and last night the alarm went off on her Respisense.  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!  I don't know what would have happened if she wasn't wearing one!  All I can say is thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Sorry, also wanted to say its (Respisense) a great product. I'm a doctor and used a babysense II monitor with my eldest after he stopped breathing twice shortly after birth. With my youngest I cannot get him to sleep in a cot without waking his brother so a bed monitor was useless and I've been terrified of SIDs and unable to sleep. The respisense has literally changed our life and I can relax a little again. I know nothing is 100% guaranteed in life but at least I can sleep easier knowing I've done everything I can to ensure that if anything was to happen I've got a good chance of being warned at the time and possibly being able to revive him rather than finding out when it is too late.

Thanks again

Theresa

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am returning my original Respisense as requested to part exchange for my new one which has already been charged to my account.

Thank you for all your help and can I just say that I have recommended Respisense to other new parents, it gave me both peace of mind and much needed sleep with my first baby.

Thank you.

Just wanted to say thank you for your help. The new monitor turned up on Saturday and worked perfectly! After speaking to you on Friday I sent off the non working unit that day so you should have it now. Our baby came out of intensive care yesterday and is home now. The Respisense monitor is clipped onto her nappy and is working fine and providing much piece of mind.

Thanks once again for your assistance.

Best regards,
Craig

Having reviewed the different types of Baby monitor/alarm we felt a clip on breathing application was the best solution for our 1 week old son. With little apparent difference we opted for the slightly cheaper Snuza Halo before exchanging it for the Respisense Ditto.

We bought the Halo on the merits of its smaller clip, with the view it wouldn't accidently fall off. After testing the unit for a few days we noticed three flaws.

1. The rubber tip used to detect movement must make contact with his stomach, we felt with constant movement through breathing this contact would cause a rash.
2. We alternate between disposable and lollypop reusable nappies. The reusable's are a lot thicker. Due to the extra thickness the unit would point out away from him and causing several false alarms. In disposables it works fine
3. The clip isnt durable. No good for reusable's

We asked SSS for a Respisense and Chris was happy to oblige. The Respisense Ditto is a strange contraption. It senses breathing movement and oddly doesn't need to directly touch the skin. Its fixed clip works well with both types of nappies and even with a small Muslin under it. (We do this in case he messes, its hard to clean)

He's now 3 months old and we are suitably happy with the Ditto. Sometimes it takes a couple of attempts to switch the unit on and the battery life hasn't been fantastic but when it comes to a mobile 24hr baby safety monitor I'd certainly recommend it.

How did you find out about Respisense? Mother in law, word of mouth, internet

What made you decide to buy a monitor? Hospital recommended it

Are you satisfied with the monitor? Extremely

How satisfied are you with the service you received from Respisense? Excellent, A Class

Any other comments? We couldn’ t have slept without these - our twin boys had some breathing difficulties as they were 2 months premature and in special care for 5 weeks. When they came home they wore them at all times. They now wear them for naps and at night. They have only ever alarmed when there has been a possible problem and we have on one occassion had to shake our baby awake. We strongly believe these monitors may have prevented a possible apnoea situation. Why wouldn't you buy one?

What made you decide to buy a monitor? Wouldn’ t think of not having one - peace of mind

Are you satisfied with the monitor? More than satisfied

How satisfied are you with the service you received from Respisense? The first one was faulty. We got another by return of post!

Any other comments? All new babies should have one. We found Respisense better than the type that goes under the mattress. Respisense goes everywhere with Daniel.

How did you find out about Respisense? The internet

What made you decide to buy a monitor? Our twins were 3 months premature

Are you satisfied with the monitor? Yes

How satisfied are you with the service you received from Respisense? Very satisfied

Any other comments? We found that Respisense works better with sleepsuits rather than 2 piece PJ's. Also Pampers nappies at night help, cheaper nappies swell more - increasing the chances of the Respisense moving position and going off

Fantastic little device - giving us total piece of mind that our babies are safe. Thank You.

"When I found my little boy of 13 weeks not breathing in his pram it was my worse nightmare, luckily I managed to resusitate him just before the ambulance arrived although he went off again on the way to hospital, however he survived his ordeal and because he was breathing on admission to A+E the doctors all looked very disbelieving that this event actually happened (despite the ambulance men witnessing his 2nd event!!) Anyway we were discharged the day after with no tests, no answers and no reassurances!!

We looked for monitors as we obviously could not sleep for watching Sam didnt stop breathing again, we found respisense and ordered one. Not only did it arrive in record time but it has been a god send. It has buzzed and stimulated Sam to breath a few times and it has alarmed once when Sam needed more of our help to remember that breathing is a good idea!! Sam is now 9 months and hasnt had any further episodes luckily but he still has his respisense on each night. I would highly recommend this to anyone"

Pros: compact, lightweight, no wires

"I have tried the Respisense on my daughter this morning and it seems to be working great. She was born 4 weeks early and because we lost our little boy (age seven weeks) last year (not to sids, he was born with a diaphragmatic hernia) we were very concerned about our daughter. We purchased a Nircom Babysense 2 which we would not be without. That gave us so much peace of mind knowing that if she did stop breathing at least we would have warning and be able to do something about it.

This was all great but did not cover our little girl if she fell asleep in her chair or when she was out and about in the pram. I had seen the Respisense advertised a while ago and we decided that it would be great to have her covered where ever she fell asleep. It is going to be a great mind settler when we go on holiday too, it is so small and compact that it can be taken any where at all and when we are out visiting too.

I am a little worried about the size of it, because it is so small I feel it could easily be lost. It is a pity that there isn’ t some type of safety cord or clip to double secure it. I would recommend this to anyone who is worried about their baby. It seems rather expensive for the size of it, but then again you can’ t put a price on the life of your baby, as we know. I had searched the net for the best price and found your company the best value by far. I am pleased with the customer service too, very efficient and pleasant. Thank you, I will recommend your company and this device any time at all."

How easy was the monitor to set up and use?: easy and straightforward

What do you most like about this baby monitor: it’ s reliable

What do you least like about this baby monitor: if baby "wriggles" or turns over (whilst asleep),the monitor can come loose, causing the alarm to falsely activate, which sometimes wakes both baby and parents (although this proves it works!)

How does this baby monitor compare with other monitors: n/a

Does the monitor offer value for money?: certainly, it’ s a small price to pay for "peace of mind", and a "potential life saver"

Other Comments: My husband bought this monitor for our baby, as his friends young baby had recently passed away due to SIDS. Plus we wanted the extra peace of mind that our daughter was safe whilst sleeping at night. She is also a very quiet and peaceful sleeper, which would often cause me to constantly check her throughout the night. This perticular monitor has given me the reassurance that she is safe whilst asleep, as the alarm has momentarily sounded on a few occassions (she sometimes has sleep apnea)and the "buzz" has thankfully proved to be enough to remind her to "breath". This has allowed both myself, and my husband to get a better nights sleep.

Overall how would you rate this product on a scale of 1-5: 4 - very good

Respisense Owner - June 2009

"Our Respisense Baby Monitor goes everywhere we go. It’ s very simple to use and the battery lasts for a year and can be replaced. I think this product is very good and would be even better if the clip was redesigned."

"[Good Points] My 4 month old baby boy will only sleep on his front. Since purchasing the Respisense monitor I have worry free nights. I can also leave him asleep in his pram with his monitor on, which you can’ t do with a cot mattress breathing monitor. [Bad Points] No bad points! [ General Comments] The monitor works brilliantly. I would recommend it to everybody. It's much better than a cot mattress breathing monitor because you don’ t have to remember to switch it on and off in the middle of the night when you wake up to feed your baby. I’ d pay a fortune for the peace of mind it gives, and the Respisense Buzz baby monitor cost less than 90...a bargain! "

Respisense Owner

"[Good Points] Can monitor individual babies anywhere, any time of day. Great for parents of twins and multiples, especially when they share their bed, which they do for comfort. [Bad Points] Not rechargeable, although refurbishment is available from the manufacturer for a small charge if you want to use it for a second child. [General Comments] Respisense Buzz review - As we know as parents, peace of mind when it comes to our babies is priceless. With all the information we are given about Cot Death it is very hard not to worry about it. When I first saw this monitor [Respisense] on tv I was sceptical, but I got one anyway. It did do what it said it would with regard to the breathing monitoring. Fortunately I haven’ t had to test the Tummy Tickle on my child as far as I know, but it did work when I did a test on it, and I'm just reassured knowing it's there."

Respisense Owner

"Hello, I recently won a Respisense monitor with forparentsbyparents.com and I would just like to say a big thank you! It is an amazing product and I will be recommending it to all my friends in my day to day life and online. It (Respisense) really is new and different and works very well :D Many thanks"

"C... came down with a very nasty flu, and his breathing was affected. One night during his flu the Respisense alarm went off. I rushed into his room and he wasn’ t stirring like he normally does . ... so I picked him up, upon doing that I heard him take a huge gasp of breath while choking through mucus, then he started crying, I knew he had stopped breathing."

"I am extremely grateful for the breathing monitor. To me this purchase has and will always be the best purchase I have ever made. This monitor is not just for families with a breathing history, this I believe is for ALL families."

Jacqui K

"I looked around to find a monitor exactly like Respisense, because all the other ones here are only for a crib or a prone position. They have a lot of false alarm readings from what I’ ve read, and no feature to assist the baby to breathe if he were to stop. Your product caught my eye because it can be used anywhere, doesn’ t run the risk of electric shock, and has the most important piece of actually doing something about a breathing episode. I have 2 friends right now who are pregnant and are also planning on getting one for their infants."

Margaret Connor

"The hospital one is large, bulky and has electrodes and leads to contend with, the band that goes round his chest causes skin breakdown and small blisters and the pad one only works well if he stays on it, and he is becoming active so he wiggles off it and it does not I imagine feel particularly comfortable lying on a hard surface?!! They all have their problems in their designs. I am amazed at how well [the Respisense] attaches to the nappy also, it really fits well and seems very secure against his tummy. What an excellent design you have created!!"

Helen E, trained Direct Entry Midwife

"The device [Respisense] is a real life saver and helps a lot. We almost lost our baby, and now feel a lot better knowing that the monitor is on and will alert us"

Petrus Kotze

"I wish to advise you that all is well with my daughter and feel that you have developed a great and worthwhile product. I must say I am also having a good nights sleep knowing that the Respisense is on constant surveillance."

Terence Dean
