Why buy Respisense Breathing Effort Monitors?
For constant reassurance that your baby is safe, no matter where you are.
Babies do not always sleep on their back, and interrupted sleep can be harmful and potentially dangerous. Use Respisense Baby Monitor for additional security during the first 8 months of baby’ s life.
Infantrust pioneered a completely new approach to baby monitoring, eliminating the hazards of older designs and making baby monitoring easy and totally portable. Respisense is the world’ s first cable-free baby movement monitor and can be used from cot to creche to grandmother's lap, at home or elsewhere. No other infant monitor allows the freedom of movement, safety in design and proven track record of Respisense.
What do Respisense monitors do?
Respisense monitors all tummy movements of a baby, including breathing efforts. If movements cease, slow down too much or become too shallow, the built in tactile stimulator will act as baby’ s "wake up call". If movement does not resume an alarm will alert the parent or carer.
Do I need a sound monitor too?
It is a matter of preference. Sound and video monitors are most suitable when baby becomes restless or cries for attention.
Respisense respiratory effort monitor provides useful assistance on the other, more important end of the baby’ s activity scale i.e. when baby becomes silent and motionless.
By monitoring tummy movements directly with Respisense, you will be alerted if baby becomes dangerously inactive. In addition, the Respisense Ditto models will provide proactive, gentle tactile stimulation even before human intervention. Respisense leaves parents free to choose from the best sound and video monitors available to complement the nursery should they so wish.
buzzing respisenseSome movement monitors generate resonant audible alarms that can be uncomfortable for baby’ s developing hearing. The Respisense alarm is shrill, piercing and can be heard quite far, but at a safe level below 86db. Adding an audio baby monitor to your nursery will enable you to relay the Respisense alarm to where you are (within its limits) without alarming your baby.

Is Respisense Safe?
Yes! Respisense was invented by a doting father who extensively tested the design and functionality on his own triplets.
The design and testing process of Respisense continued for a period of more than two years and during this time the inherent hazards found in other designs were eliminated. These unique infant respiratory monitors are designed to be the world’ s safest and easiest to use. Respisense monitors have no cables that can strangle a baby, no straps that can restrict blood circulation to hands and feet and no mains connection that could snag in baby’ s bedding and cause electrocution or start fires.
Respisense is made of hypo-allergenic and fracture resistant polycarbonate (the material often used for spectacle lenses), which does not require silicon or latex parts to be in constant contact with your baby’ s skin. The design has no soft protrusions that can be chewed off or choked on.
Respisensemonitors use no radioactive material and generate no radio or ultra-high frequency emissions. There is usually no need for battery replacement, avoiding the problem of loose batteries which could create a choking hazard.
Respisense monitors carry the CE mark for safety, conform to 2001/95/EC and 89/336/EEC requirements as certified by TUV Rheinland Quality Services, and are manufactured to ISO9001:2000 quality management processes.
How often do I need to replace batteries?
Respisense Buzz
No battery replacement is required in normal use. The special, high-capacity, feather-light batteries used by Respisense should not require replacement during the first 6 months when babies are most at risk. The safety of the monitors is further enhanced by sealing the batteries inside the units, protected from inquisitive explorers and preventing babies from chewing on or choking on spent batteries. These eco-friendly power sources can be replaced by the manufacturer at a very reasonable fee for parents wishing to pass their monitors on or use them for subsequent children.
NEW! Respisense Ditto
Although the battery has been designed to last, the battery life will depend on the usage of the monitor. A replacement battery for the Respisense Ditto can be bought from a number of outlets, including Respisense, and can be replaced by the parents
What about false alarms?
Most false alarms in traditional movement monitors are cause by loose wires, improper installation or the need for hard bases and specific mattresses. Respisense monitors need not be tuned to their installation environment and there are no wires or plug-connections that could become loose or degrade over time. The reasons for most false alarms have therefore been eliminated in the patented Respisense design.
The comprehensive and informative instructions that accompany each Respisense baby monitor provide useful tips on correct usage. If used correctly, no Respisense user should ever have to endure false alarms.
What mattress can I use with Respisense monitors?
Any type! Respisense baby monitor is designed to work anywhere baby may fall asleep - on bedding of any type or thickness, on a picnic blanket or in grandmother's lap. Respisense was designed to travel, eliminating the problems associated with continuous reinstallation of traditional monitors.
Cautionary note: The use of Respisense baby monitors does not eliminate the need for parents to ensure that they use the most appropriate type of mattress and bedding for their child's particular needs.
Is a baby monitor like Respisense necessary?
Just like safety belts make travelling safer, Respisense can help make baby's first year safer by alerting the carer when baby becomes dangerously inactive. In addition, the TummyTickle vibrating mechanism imitates the tactile stimulation often used by nurses in intensive care units on babies who have become motionless.
